Marine Spatial Planning
Tool to plan, manage, and engage stakeholders of the many uses of marine resources.
Marine spatial planning (MSP) is a science-based tool used to plan, manage, and engage stakeholders of the many uses of marine resources in a way that helps to achieve sustainable development of the oceans. The rationale for MSP is to provide a stable and transparent planning system for maritime activities and stakeholders, within agreed-upon environmental limits, to ensure that marine ecosystems and their biodiversity remain healthy.
