Abstract
The 2012 Annual Report for the Thornton Bank Offshore Wind Farm documents a critical year of construction and expansion, focusing on the installation of 30 wind turbines and the offshore transformer station. The project continued its phased development towards the ultimate goal of 54 wind turbines with a total capacity of 325 MW.
Key environmental monitoring activities included:
- Bathymetric surveys
- Cable route assessments
- Sedimentation and erosion monitoring
- Cables burial depth tracking
By the end of 2012, a total installed capacity of 215 MW was operational. No major environmental incidents were reported, and the project maintained rigorous safety and environmental protocols.
