Waterfowl
Waterfowl
Birds with webbed feet for aquatic environments.
Waterfowl are birds that have webbed feet and a flat, rounded-tip bill for living in an aquatic environment including ducks, geese, and swans, and excluding seabirds that live in marine environments. Species may dive deep for fish or benthic invertebrates, feed near the surface, filter through bottom sediments, or graze on land.
As most waterfowl are migratory, they may be at greater risk of collision with wind turbine blades. Waterfowl may show temporary avoidance in areas during construction.
