Abstract
This article deals with the activities of the Advisory Committee for Social and Environmental Aspects (AMMA) related to the windfarm project at Oosterbierum of the Dutch Electricity Generating Board (Sep).
A Policy Committee consisting of representatives of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Sep, has power of decision where the activities relating to the windfarm project are concerned. AMMA was set up in order to advise the Policy Committee on matters dealing with gaining experience in physical planning aspects, environmental aspects and social acceptance. Under the assignment of AMMA, seven inquiries have been addressed.
In this reading the nature and content of the inquiries bird survey, landscape analysis, research into the visual experience of windfarms and the socio-psychological survey concerning the social experience and acceptance of wind energy will be presented as well as the results of these inquiries that have come to surface until the present day.
