Abstract
Milieu jaarverslag 2010 - BELWIND fase 1
The Annual Environmental Report for 2010 by Belwind Offshore Energy provides a detailed account of the activities, technology, and monitoring related to the Belwind Phase 1 wind farm project on Bligh Bank, approximately 46 km off the coast of Zeebrugge. Phase 1 includes 55 Vestas V90-3.0 wind turbines, an offshore high voltage station (OHVS), 33 kV park cabling, and a 150 kV export cable to Zeebrugge.
Key activities in 2010 included:
- Installation of foundations, wind turbines, and the OHVS.
- Laying and testing of park cabling and the 150 kV export cable.
- Implementation of scour protection around foundations.
- Commissioning of the OHVS and initial operation of the wind turbines, with the first turbine becoming operational on October 22, 2010.
Monitoring activities focused on:
- Specific monitoring during pile driving to protect marine mammals.
- Erosion around the foundations and along the cable route.
- Ensuring cable burial depth met regulatory requirements.
Safety, health, and environmental measures were supervised by a dedicated QHSSE team. Comprehensive inspections and necessary adjustments were performed in collaboration with federal and regional authorities. The final operational permit for the wind farm was granted on January 6, 2011.
