The NWCC Sage-Grouse Research Collaborative was founded in 2010 to coordinate studies examining the potential impacts of wind energy development on sage-grouse across their range with the goal of informing wind development and sage-grouse management strategies. This webinar presents results from the following two research projects overseen by the NWCC Sage-Grouse Research Collaborative:
Ecology of male Greater Sage-Grouse in relation to wind energy development in Wyoming presented by Joshua Millspaugh, University of Montana and Chris Hansen, University of Missouri
Research Team: Joshua Millspaugh, University of Montana; Mark Rumble, U.S. Forest Service, Rocky Mountain Research Station; Scott Gamo, Wyoming Game and Fish Department; Chris Hansen and Aleshia Fremgen, University of Missouri; Jon Kehmeier and Nate Wojcik, SWCA Environmental Consultants; Garry Miller and Kara Choquette, Power Company of Wyoming
Effects of a Wind Energy Development on Greater Sage-Grouse Habitat Selection and Population Demographics in Southeastern Wyoming presented by Chad LeBeau, Western EcoSystems Technology, Inc.
Research Team: Chad LeBeau, Greg Johnson, Ryan Nielson, Mandy Kauffman, and Trent McDonald, Western EcoSystems Technology, Inc.; Matthew Holloran, Wyoming Wildlife Consultants, currently at Operational Conservation; Jeffrey Beck, University of Wyoming; Eli Rodemake, Wyoming Wildlife Consultants, Currently at Image Spatial Consulting
