Webinar #8 in Annex IV Environmental Webinar Series
Sponsored by Ocean Energy Systems (OES)
March 15, 2016 @ 15:00 - 16:30 UTC
Summary
On February 24, 2016, EIMR hosted workshops on environmental impacts of marine renewable energy, in advance of the 2016 International Conference on Ocean Energy (ICOE) in Edinburgh, Scotland. One of those workshops focused on collision risk around tidal turbines, and was sponsored by Annex IV, ORJIP, and the UK Catapult. The purpose of the workshop was to identify the key challenges within the permitting/consenting process related to collision risk for marine wildlife with tidal turbines, in order to help reduce risk and uncertainty for developers and regulators.
