Summary
A workshop was convened by Pacific Northwest National Laboratory and the Northwest National Marine Renewable Energy Center, with funding from the U.S. Department of Energy, to evaluate gaps in available instrumentation for environmental monitoring and to identify possible solutions for how to fill those gaps. The 36 invited participants met for 2 days (June 25−26, 2013) on the University of Washington campus in Seattle, Washington. Participants included scientists and industry practitioners with established expertise in instrumentation that is, or could be, used to monitor MRE projects. Many of the participants have had practical experience working with these instruments in energetic wave and tidal environments. This webinar was held to discuss the findings of this workshop.
