Abstract
This technical memo analyzes the scour depth evolution around jacket foundations of the Thornton Bank Offshore Wind Farm, focusing on multibeam survey data collected between 2011-2015. The study examines scour development for 48 wind turbine foundations installed across Areas A and B.
Key findings include:
- Scour depth varies with water depth
- Area B foundations reached equilibrium scour depth
- Area A foundations still experiencing active scour
- Equilibrium scour depth typically 1-2m
- Scour depth inversely proportional to installation depth
The analysis provides critical insights into seabed morphological changes around offshore wind turbine foundations.
