Abstract
DHI were commissioned by LIC Energy UK Ltd (LICE) to undertake an analysis of the metocean conditions required for the design of the foundations for wind turbine generators (WTG) and sub-stations for the Rampion Offshore Wind Farm (ROWF).
This report documents the final stage of the three-stage approach applied as outlined in our proposal to determine the metocean design conditions in the ROWF area, and includes the Stage 3 results. This third stage is intended to inform the final design stage and refines the database used to determine the metocean conditions by implementing a high-resolution wave model for the English Channel and ROWF area. Stage 3 also includes a more detailed validation of the hydrodynamic data (water levels and currents) used in Stage 2. The Stage 2 works are reported in (DHI, January 2014).
