With 130 countries committed to tripling renewable energy capacity by 2030, the offshore wind sector offers a robust means of harnessing the ocean’s abundant energy. However, as offshore wind installation scales to meet demand, the sector also has to examine its material impacts and dependencies on nature.
The Nature Positive: Role of the Offshore Wind Sector report examines the risks and nature-positive benefits of offshore wind technology. The report outlines five priority actions that businesses in the offshore wind sector can take to unlock over $5.5 billion per year in additional value by 2030, including reducing the impact of operations and materials, innovating in product design, and actively supporting and investing in nature restoration efforts.
