Abstract
Cumulative impact assessment of potential environmental effects is an important aspect of the EIA process to which most proposed wave and tidal energy schemes are subject. Guidance on how to undertake such an assessment is, however, generally lacking, compounded by our limited understanding to date of wildlife interactions with such technologies. This report outlines a potential approach that may be applied to ascertain cumulative impacts on seabirds that may arise from proposed marine renewable energy developments alongside other existing or planned development.
