Abstract
The 5th Symposium of the Scottish Marine Energy Research Programme (ScotMER), organized by Marine Scotland, presented recent research on seabirds, fish and fisheries, marine mammals, diadromous fish, ecosystem level research and socioeconomics, in relation to offshore renewable developments in Scotland.
The Energy Emissions session featured the following presentations:
- Underwater UXO clearance operations: High versus Low order – deflagration. (Paul Lepper, Loughborough University)
- Characterisation of underwater operational noise of two types of floating offshore wind turbines, (Nienke Van Geel, SAMS)
- An evaluation of current practice and recommendations for environmental impact assessment of electromagnetic fields from offshore renewables on marine invertebrates. (Lucie Herve, University of Strathclyde)
- Knowledge Exchange workshops on the topic of the effects of cable electromagnetic fields (Andrew Gill, CEFAS)
