Ponte di Archimede International S.p.A. (PdA) was established in 1983 as a part of the Caronte Shipping Group. PdA works in the field of research and development with the main projects being in renewable energy - the Kobold turbine and a submerged floating tunnel - Archimede's Bridge. PdA carries out their international scientific research with ISET in Germany, the Academy of Sciences of the People's Republic of China and with the support of important Italian scientists from the Italian Shipping Register (RINA), the National Council of Research (CNR), the University Politecnico di Milano, the University of Naples "Federico II", and INSEAN - the Italian Ship Model Basin.
