Offshore Forum Windenergie
The offshore wind energy forum (OFW) was founded in 2001 as a private company to a consortium of developers of offshore wind farms to advance the development of offshore wind energy in the North and Baltic Seas. With the commissioning of the first offshore wind turbines, the group of shareholders also to operators of offshore wind farms has expanded.
The OFW is concerned since its foundation with political and legal issues of offshore wind sector. Against this background, relevant questions are discussed and processed in connection with the development and realization of offshore wind farms and the licensing procedure and its completion since now more than 10 years. An essential part of the activities of the SAW consists in to deal with the legal and policy framework to encourage change and to adopt a position within the framework of specific legislative proposals.
