As part of its mission to support the global deployment of wind energy through a better understanding of environmental issues, Working Together to Resolve Environmental Effects of Wind Energy (WREN) recently launched a new technology tool as a reference of available strategies for monitoring and mitigating the environmental effects of land-based and offshore wind energy development. WREN will continuously maintain and update the research status of technologies to ensure the international community has access to current, publicly available information on monitoring and mitigation solutions, their state of development, and related research on their effectiveness.
To officially launch the Tool, WREN hosted a short, instructional webinar on Wednesday, 21 September 2022 from 8:00-8:30 AM PT (3:00-3:30 PM UTC). During the webinar, researchers from the National Renewable Energy Laboratory and Pacific Northwest National Laboratory provided a live demonstration of the new Tool, highlighted its content and features, and discussed ways to contribute additional technologies for inclusion.
Access the Wind Energy Monitoring and Mitigation Technologies Tool here.
If you would like to submit your technology for inclusion in the Tool, please complete this survey.
