The Marine Alliance for Science and Technology for Scotland (MASTS), Environmental Interactions of Marine Renewables (EIMR) conference series, and Marine Scotland are hosting an online workshop entitled, “Passport to the oceans of the future: delivering marine energy through science & policy”, from 2:30-5:30pm BST (1:30-4:30pm UTC) on 27 May 2021.
This half day workshop aims to explore:
- The capacity of the oceans to deliver energy via offshore technology
- How will colocation really work?
- What is co-existence?
- Why we need a REAL Ecosystem Approach?
- What is the role of marine plans: national and regional?
- Where do Marine Protected Areas fit in?
A series of short talks will pinpoint cutting edge science and contemporary policy direction to inform detailed workshop discussions. Free to attend, it will be interest to marine scientists, ecologists, marine policy makers and all those interested in energy transition and the development of its governance.
