Join Oceantic Network for a day and a half workshop to build an industry-wide collaborative environmental data strategy. The goal of the workshop is to create an action plan and design a pilot data-sharing program that enables the U.S. offshore wind industry to effectively share knowledge of offshore wind data that will benefit all stakeholders.
The workshop is presented by Oceantic Network in partnership with the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL).
Workshop Goals:
- Determine what data can be publicly shared and what data will remain protected.
- Determine the desired industry outcomes and areas where industry cooperation is likely.
- Determine the subset of possible data collection methods or derived data types that might benefit from standardization.
Background:
Oceantic Network’s Data & Digitalization Working Group held a meeting at the 2023 International Partnering Forum (IPF) with a group of industry developers, subject matter experts, and regulators to discuss opportunities for the U.S. offshore wind industry to increase efficiencies, avoid redundancies, and rapidly increase the knowledge base for the benefit of all stakeholders. The primary outcome was a consensus to advance an industry-wide collaborative environmental data strategy with a workshop.
