OCOSS’2013 aims to take stock of the recent projections and the future developments of researches and technologies related to observation of seas and oceans within the framework, on the European level, of the Declaration of Aberdeen and on the French level, of the “Grenelle de la mer”.
It draws up a broad spectrum covering physical oceanography (waves, tide, currents, thermocline, salinity, turbidity,...) and marine geosciences, meteorology and climatology, the environmental monitoring and of the littoral ecosystem, the optimization of the fishing resources, assistance with exploration and exploitation of the oceans (offshore oil rig, marine energy: swell, wind, thermic, oil.), the cartography of sea-beds (bathymetry, imagery, geology,...), space oceanography, underwater robot-like systems, systems of detection and control of the sea traffic civil, METOC systems and military systems of information & command of the naval forces.
