Abstract
Tidal Energy is an important source of alternative energy because it is compliant in three areas. These areas include predictability, energy density, and no visual/noise impact. In addition, tidal energy has a high potential ceiling in energy resources and economic impacts. There are 50 TWh resources located in Irish/UK waters and 19.6 TWH in U.S. waters. Not to mention, there is an estimated 128 Euros expected to be made from equipment sales.
Currently, the European Marine Energy Centre is a leading industry for tidal renewals. Much of the leading technology is underway by the EMEC.
