Abstract
Established in 1999, the National Ocean Economics Program (NOEP) provides a full range of the most current policy-relevant economic and demographic information available on changes and trends along the U.S. coast, Great Lakes, and coastal waters. The NOEP delivers its information through searchable databases available on this site, as well as through published articles and reports. The NOEP is now part of the new Center for the Blue Economy at the Monterey Institute of International Studies, which is funded by a generous grant from the Loker Foundation. Plans are underway to expand NOEP to provide an even broader range of socioeconomic and scientific information and extend its scope internationally. NOEP supports the broader mission of the CBE to "educate the next generation of leaders to sustainably manage the world's oceans and coasts."
