This document is intended to be read in conjunction with the background document.Mexico has invested in regulating marine renewable energies (MRE). Through the 'General Law of Climate Change' and the 'Law of Energy Transition', the Federal government has established two programs or strategies to incorporate MRE. In this sense, the Federal Ministry of Energy, the Interamerican Bank of Development, and the Mexican Association of Marine Energy have developed a 'Manual on Normativity for Ocean Energy Project Permits', which provides interested parties with a guide for the implementation and development of projects related to ocean resource utilization.
